Constitutional Business Committee Recommends New BCO Amendment
The Committee on Constitutional Business (CCB), in consultation with Potomac Presbytery, recommended new language for BCO 38-3 with regard to dealing with church members who join some other church or body. The new provision, which now goes to the presbyteries for approval, allows for a court to continue to discipline an alleged offender, even if he has joined another group. TE Fred Mau of Dyersburg, TN, urged that if a person wants to go, the church should let him go and not try to pursue discipline. But the court by a large margin voted down Mau's proposal.
