Clover, SC (September 18, 1997)--The Tenth Stated Meeting of Fellowship Presbytery was at the Bethel Church. We convened at 9:00 a.m. The Moderator, TE Chip McArthur, opened the meeting in prayer and preached a message from Joshua 5:13-6:5. We observed a season of prayer following the message.
RE Leonard Gwinn was elected Moderator for this meeting. Several members of Presbytery reported on recent meetings of General Assembly Committees on which they are members. TE Stanley Hartman, SS at the McCutchen Church in Union, SC, reported that he would be leaving the church at the end of October. Our Membership Committee gave reports on our interns and candidates. TE Phil Linton and TE Dick Belcher who labor out of bounds gave their reports for this year. Mr. Patrick Harmon was examined and received as a Candidate for the Gospel Ministry from the Westminister Church in Rock Hill. TE John Fastenau reported on the status of Christ Cornerstone Presbyterian Mission. The service to organize as a particular church will take place on Sunday, October 26, 1997 at 6:00 pm.
Presbytery approved TE John David Love as Stated Supply at the Bullock Creek Church and TE Samuel Hoyt as Stated Supply at the Trinity Church for another year.
Presbytery approved the report of the Commission to Install Richard Lambert to Reformed University Ministry at Winthrop University on September 14, 1997.
The Missions Committee has planned a youth missions trip to Jamaica with MTW Impact in July of 1998.
Our next meeting is scheduled at the Trinity Church
in Chester on Saturday,
January 24, 1998, and TE Chris Ehelers is our Moderator
